He started his dancehall craft after returning from Jamaica in a small town in Ghana called Nima.
Shatta has indeed proven to be a king throughout the years, retaining relevance in the music industry for close to a decade. 2. STONEBWOY
Also rubbing shoulders at the top in the dancehall genre in Ghanaian music industry is Stonebwoy. Born 5th of march 1988 he has been active in the music industry since 2009. Full name Livingstone Etse Satekla's debut album, 'Grade 1' made the Stonebwoy brand a household name in the music industry.Signed by Samini to the High Grade Family record label group. His first hit single which he featured Samini was titled Climax and Ghetto Love which he featured Irene Logan, earned him nominations at the Ghana music awards. He has through the years proven to be a real son of the soil, by placing Ghana and Africa on the map and shared stages with top artistes worldwide.

3.SAMINI
Samini is taking the 3rd spot on this list, CEO of High Grade Family record label, built a good career for himself over the years. After releasing his second self-titled studio album, Samini.He has performed alongside top acts like Akon, Sean Paul, Bennie Man, Jay Z, Shaggy, Wayne Wonder and lots of others. He won the best African Act at the MOBO Awards 2006, that was when he received International Recognition as 'Best African Act'. For more than a decade the HGF CEO has been a relevant part of Ghanaian and international dancehall and proven indeed to be an 'Untamed Lion'.

Having a female artiste topping the charts is a big surprise to everyone. Females are known to be in the afro pop genre, soul, RnB but not in the Dancehall genre. Born 23rd June 1992, MzVee has been a force to reckon with in the Ghanaian Music industry. The year 2014 saw a tremendous breakthrough for the young act as she launched her first solo single which she titled Bokor Bokor, this single made her gain an audience in Ghana followed with another hit which she titled Natural Girl crowning her the Unsung artiste of the year at the Ghana Music awards. 5. RIC SPADE
Ric Spade, known by his birth name Kweku Appiah a Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall singer and songwriter. The new act caught his "not-so-big break" at the start of 2020 with Deadman Wheelie off the Guardian Riddim. Prior to this, he had debuted in 2018 with Patience, a new-age conscious type of Reggae that definitely gained him notoriety. His niche was a sultry combination of fluid Patois dialect with smooth Hip-Hop & RnB transitioning which resonated well with the females as evident with the release of Bad Gyal and Jam Gyal as far back as 2016.
Ric Spade's most recent release Matic 4Eva, an original Dancehall production, saw the young artiste’s stance solidified as one of Ghana’s promising acts to watch out for.
