Mugeez (R2bees) Joins Forces with Iakopo, Drei Ros & Sean Paul on “Closer To You”

Iconic Ghanaian artist, and one-half of legendary Tema-based music duo R2bees, Mugeez, joins forces with international acts Iakopo and Drei Ros on dancehall infused club banger titled “Closer To You” which features the legendary Sean Paul. Mugeez, undoubtedly one of the most in demand acts on the Ghanaian music scene at the moment, has over the past year released back to back singles, freestyles, and collaborations. His most recent outputs include well-received contemporary highlife bop “Chihuahua” and recently released afrobeat jam “Six in Da Morning”. Both precursors to his solo EP due by end of year. Masicka who has been one of the most consistent dancehall artistes over the last 5 years returns with this hard-hitting grimy track which is already the number one trending song/video on the island. According to youtube and several other online platforms “Grandfather” is the most streamed song in Jamaica, noted on May 25th. In the eye opening visual Masicka talks to his grand son, shows him the rights and wrongs in “badniss” and how to survive as long he did. The Winners of the Third Edition of the 3Music Awards were announced, on May 2, 2020 with Kofi Kinaata bagging the Ultimate category, Song of the Year while Sarkodie was crowned, Music Man of the Year. The event organized by the 3Media Network, for the first time without physical audience due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the award scheme which was organized at the Fantasy Dome in Accra witnessed amazing performances from Kweku Smoke, KiDi, Jupitar, Mr Drew, Krymi and several others with Fameye, Kofi Mole, J.Derobie, Diana Hamilton, Sarkodie emerging as winners on the night. THEY THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO FAIL- KELVYN BOY

Afrobeat singer, Kelvyn Boy, says some individuals in the Ghanaian music fraternity thought he was not going to amount to anything after parting ways with his former label, Burniton Music Group. He made this statement in an interview on Happy98.9FM’s ‘Ayekoo After Drive’, with DJ Advicer where he said, “People thought I was going to fail after I left Burniton Music Group and Stonebwoy, but God has been good to me”. According to the musician despite his fallout with Stonebwoy, he has been able to find his niche and is doing relatively well. The musician acknowledged that his former label boss, Stonebwoy, gave him a bigger platform to excel and that is something he will always be grateful for in his entire career and life.
